Family Service Policy

As we all know, parents and teachers work together for the benefit of all our children who attend St. Pius X School.  A key factor in achieving this goal is parental involvement.  Volunteer service also contributes to the fiscal soundness of our school, and your decision to send your children to St. Pius X shows your commitment to provide them with a quality education in a faith-based environment.

With this in mind, St. Pius X School has a Family Service Program to encourage and promote volunteerism at our school.  The expectation is that each family will commit to a minimum of 25 service hours each school year.

  • The commitment of 25 hours for the school year can be met in numerous ways. If a family is unable to contribute their 25 service hours, a fee of $200.00, payable by April 19, 2019 will be required.

  • If you decide you do not want to work your 25 service hours, you can pay the $200.00 fee by August 17, 2018   (Total of above mentioned fees)

Volunteer Opportunities but not limited too

A family unable to fulfill their service commitment, or pay the fees, will not be in “good standing” as defined by the SPX Parent/Student Handbook.  This will result in the loss of the child/children’s space in the school for the next school year, and prevent the release of the report cards and school records.  We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that may affect your family’s service commitment.  If this should occur, a representative from the school will meet with you to discuss your options.

Please remember that all volunteers working with children must have completed the Safe Environment Program offered by our parish.

Sincerely,

The St. Pius X School Advisory Council
