SPX Extended Day Services
Information / Registration
The St. Pius X Catholic School Extended Day Services provides an after school program for students attending grades PK-8th grade. The program operates after school from 3:30 – 6:30 (Monday – Thursday) and 3:30 – 6PM (Fridays).
Parents wishing to enroll their children are provided with a description of the program and an explanation of fees and payment options.
A completed registration form, which includes all emergency information, is required before a student may be enrolled in the program.
Drop in care is available; this is a $20 per day charge – drop in charge is posted to the account for any student that is NOT registered as an extended day student.
A handbook is provided to each family through and is updated yearly. Handbook is part of the St. Pius X Catholic School Parent/Student Handbook that all families receive at the beginning of each year.
The program operates from the media center/gym area where each grade level group has a designated space. The daily schedule includes snack time, indoor / outdoor free play and games, quiet study time and homework help.
The rate is $10 per day/per child on the day your child is in attendance for regular school days – charges will be posted daily to your Renweb account.
Please note: Early Release Days – the rate is $20 per child (hours: dismissal – 6PM)
Parents are sent weekly balance reminders. Those accounts having balances at or above $100 over a week will not be allowed to have children stay until balances is paid in full. Payments can be made with cash, a check or a credit card (in person or over the phone). The only card we do not take is American Express and the minimum on a credit card charge is $10.
The staff of the program is led by the director, Ms. Stephanie Wahlstrom, who holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Principal Certification and 20+ years of teaching experience, 1st through 8th grades.
The staff completes criminal background checks, safe environment training and interviews. Ongoing guidance is provided during monthly staff meetings and individual conferences when the need arises. The program asks parents for verbal evaluations of the program on a regular basis to help insure the continuation of a quality program.
The St. Pius X Extended School Day Program receives ongoing support from the principal and the church. The director and staff strive to meet the needs of the student by providing care for students of working parents. The program also offers a place for students to be in a safe and productive environment.
